Citigroup CEO Michael Corbat announced he would retire at the end of February 2021.
Jane Fraser, the company's retail banking chief, is slated to succeed Corbat. Fraser becomes the first female CEO of a major U.S. bank, according to CNBC.
Corbat has led the company as CEO for eight years.
