Cisco to lay off up to 14K

Cisco Systems plans to lay off as many as 14,000 employees, sources close to the company told technology news website CRN.

The cuts represent nearly 20 percent of the networking giant’s global workforce.

The layoffs are due to the company transition into a software-centric organization from its hardware roots, according to the report.
