Cisco to buy AppDynamics for $3.7B

Cisco Systems announced yesterday it will buy  U.S. business software company AppDynamics for $3.7 billion.

Cisco's announcements comes a week after Hewlett Packard Enterprise penned a $650 million deal to purchase cloud startup SimpliVity.

AppDynamics has about 2,000 paying customers, including Nasdaq, Nike and Cisco. The company makes software that manages and analyzes applications.
