As part of plans to expand its footprint in Missouri, Cinnabon Inc. is seeking a franchisee to renew the company's presence at Springfield's Battlefield Mall.
The mall had been home to a Cinnabon eatery, but the food court tenant chose not to renew its lease at the end of 2006, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives.
Schlotzsky’s, which shares its parent company with Cinnabon, operates two of the treat stores within sandwich shops on North Glenstone Avenue and South Campbell Avenue. Focus Brands Inc., a division of Roark Capital Group, owns both companies, according to Focus Brands'
website.
Atlanta-based Cinnabon also is seeking franchisees to open mall-based locations in the coming months in St. Louis and St. Peters, as well as Fairview Heights, Ill., which borders St. Louis, according to a news release.
"We are confident we will attract qualified franchisees to fulfill the high demand for Cinnabon in the state," Cinnabon President Kat Cole said in the release.
The franchise fee per full Cinnabon bakery is $30,000, or $7,500 for a smaller express bakery. Franchisees are expected to possess cash liquidity of $120,000 and a net worth of at least $400,000. Including franchise fees, the total initial investment ranges from $142,333 to $365,700, according to
CinnabonFranchising.com.
Missouri is home to nine Cinnabon stores, with a presence in Joplin, Kansas City and St. Louis, according to its
website.
