Christian County ranks No. 3 in statewide health

Christian County ranked third among 115 Missouri counties for overall health in a new report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

Greene County ranked No. 29, while Webster County ranked No. 27 and Taney County was No. 55 in the report, titled “2010 County Health Rankings: Mobilizing Toward Community Health.”

The report looks at factors such as smoking, obesity, motor vehicle deaths, unemployment, child poverty and preventable hospital stays, as well as outcomes such as mortality and preventable death rates.

Platte County is the healthiest in Missouri, the report said, while Pemiscot County ranked last.[[In-content Ad]]
