Kimberling City-based nonprofit Christian Associates is launching its third thrift store at Battlefield Mall, 2825 S. Glenstone Ave.
The 12,500-square-foot store is scheduled to open Dec. 1 in the former Ethan Allen furniture shop near Dillard's, according to a news release.
Dubbed Wood & Twig, the store with an exterior entrance on the east side of the mall facing Glenstone will operate as a nonprofit boutique selling home decor and household items.
“Though our new boutique will have somewhat of a different vibe than its Branson West and Nixa thrift store counterparts, our mission remains the same: to be a blessing to the communities we serve,” Christian Associations Regional Operations Manager Anna Hogue said in the release.
The stores in Branson West and Nixa offer clothing, furniture, electronics, appliances and other household items. BestThingsMo.com recently named Christian Associations’ shops the best thrift stores in Missouri. Others locally on the list were Youth of the Ozarks Thrift Store in Springfield, at No. 2, and Golden Rule Thrift Store in Bolivar, at No. 5.
The 43-year-old Christian Associates last year served more than 65,000 meals, provided shelter for nearly 200 women and children threatened by domestic violence, and delivered $11,000 to the Nixa Education Foundation. The opening of the Battlefield Mall store is expected to help generate funding to help residents of Greene County, according to the release.
