Chipotle Mexican Grill announced yesterday it would retrain all of its restaurant staff nationwide.
The announcement came after health officials determined a bacteria known as clostridium perfringens was to blame for an outbreak of gastrointestinal illness that struck 647 at a Chipotle in Ohio.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, clostridium perfringens is commonly found in beef, poultry, gravies and dried or pre-cooked foods that "are prepared in large quantities and kept warm for a long time before serving."
