Chipotle restaurant closes over norovirus fears

Posted online
Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. closed a Boston restaurant over norovirus fears.

There were no reports of sick customers, but four employees felt ill. Norovirus is a common cause of viral gastroenteritis.

A Chipotle spokesperson said the restaurant would be fully sanitized before reopening.

The closure comes as Chipotle struggles to recover from a series of foodborne illness outbreaks, including an outbreak of norovirus in another Boston outlet that sickened about 140 people in December.

E. coli outbreaks also have plagued the company's reputation.
