Beijing-based wind turbine maker Sinovel was found guilty of stealing U.S. trade secrets.
Prosecutors said Sinovel's efforts to obtain software developed by U.S. company AMSC "nearly destroyed" the latter firm.
Sinovel's sentencing date is scheduled June 4. It could face billions of dollars in penalties.
