China's box office started its reopening on Monday after a six-month closure brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
Movie theaters in "low-risk" areas are able to reopen with precautions, such as masking requirements, according to the China Film Administration.
In 2019, the Chinese box office generated more than $9 billion in sales.
