China is expected to lose at least 10 percent of its working age adults, close to 90 million workers, between 2010 and 2040 due to the rapid pace of aging.
A World Bank report found the number of China's population at least 60 years old should grow from 15.5 percent now to 19.3 percent by 2020 and 38.6 percent by 2050.
In October, China lifted its one-child policy in an effort to counteract its aging population and shrinking workforce.
