China suspended its broadcasts of NBA games.
The decision came after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver defended Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey's freedom to express support for the Hong Kong protests. Morey tweeted and then deleted a post in favor of Hong Kong protestors.
"We believe that any speech challenging a country's national sovereignty and social stability is not within the scope of freedom of speech," officials with state broadcaster China Central Television said.
