China posts slowest economic growth since financial crisis

China recorded its slowest economic growth since the global economy was in a financial crisis in early 2009, Quartz reports.

China's economy grew by 6.5 percent in the third quarter, lower than the 6.6 percent rate economists expected.

“The official figures have been too stable in recent years to be taken at face value but there is little doubt that the economy is currently cooling," officials with research firm Capital Economics said.
