China debt grows to $4.6 trillion

The world's second-largest economy is struggling.

The result of easy credit and several rounds of stimulus, local government debt at the end of 2012 in China is estimated at $3.3 trillion by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, according to CNNMoney.

Total government debt is estimated at $4.56 trillion, or roughly 53 percent GDP.
