China yesterday responded to a lawsuit filed by Missouri, with a top official calling it "very absurd."
"This so-called lawsuit is very absurd and has no factual and legal basis at all," said foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang.
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt on Tuesday announced the lawsuit alleging China's government lied about the dangers of the coronavirus and did not do enough to slow the spread of the outbreak.
Mississippi followed with its own suit against China.
