The 3.5-acre Children’s Zoo at the St. Louis Zoo is slated to close for good.
The attraction formally called the Emerson Children’s Zoo will remain open through the end of October. In the spring next year, the zoo plans to initially replace the area with a dinosaur exhibit.
“The Children’s Zoo was designed for high-touch and interactive experiences, which is not conducive to a COVID or post-COVID environment," said Jeffrey Bonner, president and CEO of the zoo.
