Child conceived in Lebanon jail

Posted online
Two inmates of the Laclede County Jail are soon-to-be parents and one jailer has been fired after a September rendezvous between a male and female inmate led to pregnancy.

Jamie Litton, who is accused of assisting in the cover-up of the 2012 death of her child, became pregnant after she had sex with an unsupervised inmate who was tasked with fixing a plumbing problem in the women’s pod at the time, according to the Lebanon Daily Record.

A new tower guard, who was terminated following the incident, was supposed to be watching the inmate. The male inmate is no longer an inmate worker, the sheriff told the Record.

The sheriff said the pregnancy was reported to the Missouri Division of Social Services.
