Chicago's tallest building sells for $1.3B

Chicago's Willis Tower has topped another chart.
 
The 110-story building formerly known as the Sears Tower sold for $1.3 billion, the most paid for a U.S. office tower not in New York City, reports CNNMoney.
 
The buyer is the Blackstone Group, a private equity firm that plans to use the iconic Chicago landmark as a tourist attraction and retail office space, according to the report. The sellers, 233 South Wacker LLC and American Landmark Properties, purchased the property in 2004 for $840 million.
