The owners of The Track Family Fun Parks in Branson purchased Chicago’s Navy Pier Ferris wheel. They plan to spend around a $2.5 million investment installing it in Branson.
The 150-foot tall Ferris wheel was dismantled in September at Navy Pier, where it’d run for 20 years, and Chicago’s NBC affiliate reports it is expected to start operating this summer at the attraction on Branson’s Highway 76 strip. According to NBC Chicago, it can hold 240 passengers in 40 compartments and will have 16,000 lights.
Officials in Chicago are installing a new 196-foot Ferris wheel in conjunction with the Navy Pier’s 100th anniversary.
