Chicago developers want $62M in assistance for OKC towers

A Chicago-based developer proposing to build four towers in downtown Oklahoma City submitted an application yesterday requesting $62 million in tax breaks.

Specifically, developer Clayco is looking for tax increment financing, but the most recent ask is a little more than half the amount originally discussed with city officials in November after the company was selected to build on city-owned property.

The lowered request is due to an improving energy climate; price for domestic crude is hovering around $44 a barrel.
