Chevron is moving its headquarters to Texas from California.
A move is expected to start by year's end to Houston. The company has been located in San Ramon since 2002 and in California since its founding more than a century ago.
Chevron did not disclose a specific reason for the planned relocation. CNN reports the company last year was sued by the state of California over allegedly deceiving the public about the risks of fossil fuels.
