“Our goal is to provide needed services for that area, like restaurants,” Larino said, adding that he’s seeking a grocery store tenant. “There’ll also be other services, like barber shops.”
He added that two lots have been sold to “someone in the restaurant business,” though the purchaser has not announced what he will be doing with the land. Initial infrastructure improvements, including new streets, should be finished in November, with all land ready for development by next spring. The development was approved as a community improvement district at the June 27 City Council meeting, allowing tenants to charge additional sales tax for infrastructure improvements.
