R.G. Foster at Bates and Associates Inc. is the project architect for this 21,000-square-foot addition to the Chesterfield Family Center facility.
The addition incorporates materials and design features of the existing building while giving the complex a new and memorable presence. The aquatics addition includes a tube waterslide that penetrates the facade and exposes the indoor activities to passersby. Other features are a lap pool that is separate from the main pool, a large workout area that overlooks the pool, and family changing rooms that allow parents to help their children change with privacy.
