Cherokee Middle School

The Springfield R-XII School District is replacing and rebuilding significant portions of Cherokee Middle School with general contractor Flintco Inc. Sapp Design Associates Architects PC is the architect for the project. Engineers are Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and Anderson Engineering Inc., civil. Scheduled for completion in fall 2009, the $15 million, 67,000-square-foot project includes upgrading several areas, including the lunch/multipurpose room, food service, administrative space, counseling office, science rooms and circulation, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems. Funding for the project comes from a 2006 bond issue.
