Cheerios drops genetically modified ingredients

Under pressure from consumers and activist groups, General Mills says it will stop using genetically modified ingredients to make its original Cheerios cereal.

According to a report in USA Today, the oats used to make Cheerios never contained GMOs, but the company has made changes to its sourcing.

The change does not apply to other Cheerios flavors, such as Apple Cinnamon Cheerios.
