The trial is set to begin for former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who's accused of killing George Floyd.
Jury selection is scheduled to start today. The judge in the case is expected to see motions to reinstate a third-degree murder charge and potentially delay the jury selection to give attorneys more time to prepare for the new charge.
Chauvin currently is facing charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter. He was seen in a video last year with his knee on Floyd's neck, before he died. The death of Floyd, a Black man, set off nationwide protests.
