Chase has warned consumers not to copy a practice shown in videos that went viral on TikTok.
In the videos, some people believed they could get “free” cash from Chase ATMs by depositing checks for large sums of money and then making a withdrawal for a smaller yet substantial amount.
“Regardless of what you see online, depositing a fraudulent check and withdrawing the funds from your account is fraud, plain and simple,” a Chase spokesperson said.
