Chase to hold hiring event, add 450 jobs in 2011

Chase Card Services will host a career open house from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. June 7 at its Springfield office as part of its plan to hire 450 employees in the second half of 2011, according to Robert Tacey, a company spokesman.

Chase’s Springfield office, 303 E. Republic Road, current employs roughly 1,300 workers. Tacey said the company has added about 500 positions to the Springfield office during the last 18 months.

“We are adding jobs at the moment at different locations, but in the case of Springfield, it’s one of the places where there is a business need to increase the staff to make sure we continue to provide the highest quality service to our card members,” Tacey said adding that because the Springfield office receives in-bound calls, the additional positions are designed to meet the service needs of its customers.

Among the job openings:
  • Team managers and team leaders: Persons working in these positions would coordinate and direct the office’s daily operations through the management of peer groups. Team Managers will oversee groups of 16 to 20 customer service advisers, while team leaders will manage and direct a group of four to six team managers. Each position requires a minimum of two years of management experience in a call center or similar office environment.
  • Customer service advisers: Advisers engage and service Chase card customers during calls by answering questions, resolving problems, and offering a range of financial services and products. These positions require a minimum of one year of customer service, call center or banking experience and a high school diploma or GED.
Tacey said the Tuesday open house is the first part of its plan to increase its Springfield staff. He said he did not know how many would be hired as a result of the open house, and other similar events would be planned as needed.

Recruiters will be on site to conduct interviews for available positions, and Tacey said  interested candidates are encouraged to apply online prior to the event.
