JPMorgan Chase was hit with a lawsuit accusing the company of fining customers who purchase cryptocurrencies.
The plaintiff, Brady Tucker, indicated he bought $2,301 worth of cryptocurrencies earlier this year through a Chase credit card account.
In the suit, he claims JPMorgan Chase treated the purchases as cash advances and therefore charged fees.
“Chase provided no prior notice to its cardholders that their crypto ‘purchases’ would be treated as ‘cash advances’ on a going-forward basis,” according to the suit filed in Manhattan federal court.
