Charles Oakley sues Knicks owners, claiming defamation

Posted online

Former New York Knicks star Charles Oakley filed suit against the team's owners.

Oakley claims he was defamed by the owners when they said he committed assault and was an alcoholic after his February arrest at a game.

During the Feb. 8 Knicks' loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Oakley was removed from Madison Square Garden during the first quarter.

The suit seeks an unspecified amount of damages.
