Last year was a bubbly year for Champagne sales, with estimates pushing revenue just over the industry high-water mark set in 2007.
According to Reuters, roughly 312 million bottles of the sparkling wine sold in 2015 – between 2 and 3 percent higher than 2014.
Industry revenue also rose 4.4 percent last year to 4.7 billion euros – roughly $5.1 billion – from 4.56 billion euros in 2007.
Contributing to the uptick in 2015 were higher-priced products as well as strong demand for Champagne in the U.S., Britain and Japan and recovering markets in Italy, Spain and France.
