Chamber takes business leaders to Capitol

Posted online
More than 300 businesspeople are expected to attend the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s “Chamber Day at the Capitol” on Wednesday to discuss their priorities with state legislators.

The event will take place at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City.

In the morning, participants will hear from Missouri legislators about business-related issues expected to come up in the 2007 legislative session, including health care, economic development, ethics and lobbying rules, and tax reform.

A noon luncheon will feature speakers Gov. Matt Blunt and Lt. Col. Mark McCarter, a Senior Army Aviator with the Missouri Army National Guard who recently returned from Iraq.

In the afternoon, participants will take part in lobbying at the Capitol building, followed by a question-and-answer session with state elected officials.

The day will end with a reception with lawmakers.

To register, visit www.mochamber.com. The cost to attend is $129 for chamber members and $159 for nonmembers; groups of 10 or more will receive a discount.
