The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee is seeking nominations for the 2000 Salute to Health Care awards.
Originated by the Chamber in 1985, the Salute to Health Care recognizes the significance of health care as a leading industry in the Springfield area.
In its 15-year history, the salute has honored 48 outstanding health care professionals for their community service and medical achievements.
The annual awards are presented to individuals, or organizations, who have been direct providers of health care; have demonstrated leadership in promoting issues or efforts designed to improve the health of Springfield area residents; or have shown longevity in health care, pioneered a field or brought about significant change in the medical profession, according to a press release from the chamber of commerce.
The awards will be presented to the 2000 honorees at the annual Salute to Health Care dinner in October, co-sponsored by the chamber and the Springfield News-Leader.
Nomination forms are available from Brad Bodenhausen at the chamber, 862-5567, or by e-mail at brad@springfield chamber.com.
Completed nomination forms must be returned to the Springfield chamber office by July 31 in order to be eligible for consideration.
