Chamber seeks businesses affected by storm

Posted online
The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is gathering information on small businesses affected by the recent ice storm in an effort to make disaster loans available to them through the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The chamber will forward information about affected businesses to the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency. The goal is to gain clearance for the SBA to make Economic Injury Disaster Loans available to small businesses at low interest rates and with extended amortization periods.

Disaster assistance already is available to public entities affected by the Jan. 14–15 storm under President Bush’s federal disaster declaration of 34 Missouri counties, including Greene, Christian, Dallas, Polk and Webster.

Private businesses in disaster-area counties that were affected by the storm can fill out the chamber’s form, available by clicking here. Include the business’ name, primary contact name and other contact information, and e-mail it to sbahelp@springfieldchamber.com.[[In-content Ad]]
