The chamber’s agribusiness roundtable group will lead a discussion on the results of the study that examined the economic impact of agriculture on a 12-county area surrounding Springfield. The results were compiled by Arbinda Rimal, associate professor at Missouri State University.
The study targeted farm groups, agriculture inputs and services groups, processing groups and distribution groups. The economic impact of the industries’ gross output was measured based on output, employment, added value and labor income.
The panel discussion will feature Mike Briggs, Willow Brook Foods; Anson Elliott, Missouri State University; Brian Hammons, Hammons Products Co.; and Don Lucietta, Office of Congressman Roy Blunt.
