The finalists, in alphabetical order, are:

    •    Great River Engineering Inc., a civil engineering and surveying firm;
    •    OzAir Charter Service, the aircraft company owned by Burgess Aircraft Management LLC; and

The finalists are selected from applications based on company history, management philosophy, challenge response, innovation and community contributions, according to the release.

“Supporting small business is critical to keeping our economy healthy and vibrant,” said Matt Morrow, Springfield chamber president, in the release. “We’re proud to honor the success of these five companies, because it’s one more example of the enthusiasm, opportunity and entrepreneurial spirit that are thriving in our region.”

Last year’s Small Business Award winner was Askinosie Chocolate LLC.
