Chamber names 2009 board; Springfieldian to be honored

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce has named its 2009 executive committee.

This year's chairman of the board is Andy Lear, a partner at BKD LLP. He is a Leadership Springfield graduate and serves on the boards for the Downtown Springfield Association, the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Partnership Industrial Center West Administrative Council, according to a chamber news release.

Other members of the 2009 executive committee are Chairman-elect Tim Rosenbury, executive vice president of Butler, Rosenbury & Partners; Vice Chairman of Community Development and Special Events Bonnie Keller, president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks; Vice Chairman of Economic Development John Schaefer, president and chief operating officer of Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co.; Vice Chairman of Membership Dwayne Fulk, a partner at The Law Firm of Neale and Newman; Vice Chairman of Public Affairs Jerry Harmison, a partner at law firm Harmison & Pearman PC; Treasurer Scott Miller, associate general manager of electric supply at City Utilities; and Assistant Treasurer Mark McNay, vice president of operations at SMC Packaging Group.

The committee will be introduced at the chamber's annual meeting at 6 p.m. Friday at University Plaza Convention Center.

Also at the meeting, the chamber will present the 2009 Springfieldian award, which is given to an individual who has shown integrity of character, career success and community involvement, according to a news release. Last year's honoree was Annie Busch, who recently retired as director of the Springfield-Greene County Library District.
