Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt presented the award Sept. 25 at the annual Governor’s Conference on Economic Development. The award is given to organizations that demonstrate innovative ways of developing a work force and impacting the economy and quality of life in the areas they serve.
The chamber helped bring J.P. Morgan to Springfield seven years ago; the company now employs more than 1,600 workers with an average wage of more than $14 per hour with full benefits, according to a chamber news release.
