Chamber adds category to Salute to Health Care Awards

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the Salute to Health Care Awards until Aug. 28.

The chamber has honored physicians who support the local health care industry for 24 years, according to a news release.

This year, in addition to giving awards in the physicians category, the chamber will honor nonphysicians. The new category includes nurses, administrators and health care organizations.

Nominees for the awards must be direct providers of health care services and must have demonstrated leadership in making the Springfield area healthier by pioneering a field or bringing about significant change, the release said.

Honorees will be recognized Nov. 10 at a reception at Hickory Hills Country Club. Tickets are $40.
