CFO, tax board partner for $80K grant pool

Posted online
Community Foundation of the Ozarks and the Greene County Senior Citizens’ Services Tax Fund Board have partnered to create an $80,000 grant pool for projects or programs that would improve the health, nutrition and quality of life for Greene County residents age 60 or older.

“By working together, we can both leverage our funding and expertise to help those charged with looking out for the best interests of Greene County’s senior citizens,” CFO President Brian Fogle said in a news release.

The tax board, established in 2005 after county voters approved a levy of 5 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, is committing $40,000 of its overall revenue for the grants. CFO is matching the commitment via private charitable donations earmarked for aiding older individuals.

The deadline for the grants, which are available for nonprofits, is March 15. Funding will be awarded March 26. Applications are available on the tax board's Web site.
