CFO offering record scholarship total

Posted online
Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ 2017-18 scholarship total is at a record high.

Through some 390 academic scholarship funds held by CFO, the current cycle is nearing $1.45 million. That’s ahead of the previous record of $1.25 million awarded in the 2016-17 cycle, said CFO spokesman Matt Lemmon. The earliest applications for scholarships are due March 10.

The scholarships range from $250 to $6,000 per academic year and cover a variety of student opportunities, from public or private colleges and universities to medical and nursing schools. Scholarships also are available for those who received a GED, went to home school or have learning disabilities, among others, according to a news release.

More than 950 students in southern Missouri are awarded scholarships annually through funds designated at CFO.
