Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. has hired a former staffer for a leadership role at the nonprofit.
Matt Lemmon is scheduled to start June 24 as CFO's vice president of communications. A news release indicates the position is a newly created leadership role that would oversee external and internal communications at CFO.
“Matt’s familiarity with our work in planned giving and place-based philanthropy across central and southern Missouri is invaluable,” said Winter Kinne, CFO's president and CEO, in the release. “We’re pleased to welcome Matt back, knowing how much experience he gained leading communications for a fast-growing organization.”
Lemmon is taking on the communications duties that previously were held by Chief Operations Officer Louise Knauer, who retired in February, said Aaron Scott, CFO's director of communications.
"This new leadership role is part of an evolving organizational structure in which communications becomes its own department," Scott said via email.
Lemmon previously served as CFO’s director of communications and marketing 2011-2018, according to the release. He's been at Burrell Behavioral Health for the past six years, most recently as vice president of communications for parent company Brightli and its subsidiaries.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the CFO at an incredibly exciting time for this organization,” Lemmon said in the release. “I look forward to sharing the stories of the foundation and 55 affiliates, helping define the future of philanthropy in our communities, and expanding our critical mission.”
