The grants were presented to human service and health organizations. They are distributed through CFO’s Springfield-Greene County discretionary grants program. CFO received $685,748 in funding requests.
Today’s awards are:
• $1,400 for Alternative Opportunities Inc. to purchase infant and toddler car seats for case managers to provide transportation for foster parents;
• $5,880 for Center for Dispute Resolution to fund training and program materials for its Victim Offender Mediation program for the Greene County juvenile justice system;
• $21,381 for Child Advocacy Center Inc. to fund SAFE exams for children referred to the center;
• $5,700 for Developmental Center of the Ozarks to fund therapy services and materials for children with developmental disabilities;
• $20,000 for Family Violence Center to fund salaries, taxes and health insurance for additional case managers for follow-up support for mothers and their children after they leave the center;
• $22,100 for Greene County Family Dependence Treatment Court to pay for staff and supplies for its KIDS program for families facing substance abuse issues;
• $23,380 for ATLS Coalition to pay for more staff, tax preparation services and aid for low-income families;
• $30,000 for Community Partnership of the Ozarks Inc. to fund ongoing operational expenses;
• $11,380 for Council of Churches of the Ozarks/Eldercare Transit to purchase two-way radios, repairs and fuel for door-to-door Eldercare Transit;
• $3,000 for Southwest Missouri Indian Center for a freezer and refrigerators for its food pantry;
• $2,000 for Council of Churches of the Ozarks to purchase research software to increase its charitable donor database;
• $2,000 for Kitchen Inc. to buy computers and upgrade existing systems for data management; and
• $1,779 for New Hope Gyn Cancer Support Group to replace a laptop and digital camera for presentations.
Six of the awards correlate with CFO’s $1.5 million commitment to address children’s issues for the next five years through Grantmakers’ Challenge for Children. Those awards were given to Alternative Opportunities Inc., Center for Dispute Resolution, Child Advocacy Center Inc., Developmental Center of the Ozarks, Family Violence Center and Greene County Family Dependence Treatment Court.[[In-content Ad]]
The first southwest Missouri location of EarthWise Pet, a national chain of pet supply stores, opened; Grey Oak Investments LLC relocated; and Hot Bowl by Everyday Thai LLC got its start.
