Cerner to invest millions in Lee's Summit

Cerner Corp. plans to buy up Lee's Summit space it has been leasing for a data center. It also plans to add equipment at the facility.

The Kansas City-based health care information technology company announced it would buy space it occupies at the Summit Technology Campus and add equipment as part of a deal valued at $528 million.

Over the next 10 years, the company would make payments in lieu of taxes to the city totaling $1.3 million.
