Cerner posts 16% earnings gain in 4Q

Cerner Corp. reported substantial gains in revenue and earnings in the fourth quarter, with a 12 percent bump in revenue and a 16 percent rise in adjusted net earnings.

The Kansas City-based health information technology firm posted fourth-quarter revenue of $759.3 million, up from the $710.4 million it pulled in during the fourth quarter of 2012. Adjusted net earnings for the most recent quarter were $136.7 million, compared to $118.2 million during the same period in 2012.

Full-year revenue was also up by 9 percent compared to the year prior, reaching a total of $2.91 billion in 2013. The company is projecting revenue of between $3.2 billion and $3.4 billion this year, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
