Cerner makes $1.3B acquisition

Cerner Corp. will buy health information technology competitor Siemens Health Services for $1.3 billion in cash.

According to the Kansas City Business Journal, the acquisition would boost Cerner's annual revenue to $4.5 billion compared to its $2.91 billion recorded at the end of last year.

Siemens Health Services is a division of German engineering company Siemens AG.
