Kansas City-based health care information technology company Cerner Corp. announced it would start a search for a new CEO.
Current CEO Brent Shafer is exiting the company after being tapped to lead it in early 2018. Company officials called the move a joint decision.
Shafer joined Cerner just months after CEO and co-founder Neal Patterson died of cancer, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
