Businesses with five or fewer computers in the office can network the computers well enough if connected to one another by cable, according to a news release from Gateway Country. The computer firm adds, however, that if six or more computers need to communicate by network, the business should consider a central server.
Some of the important advantages to a central server are:
savings on software and hardware
centralized management of information
quicker information transfer
speedy sharing of applications
higher worker productivity
Small businesses are increasingly taking advantage of centralized networking, the firm said.
