Additional details have emerged in Jefferson City-based Central Bancompany Inc.'s (OTC: CBCY) plans to go public on the Nasdaq.
Central Bancompany announced in a Nov. 12 news release that it would offer 17.8 million shares of its Class A common stock, with underwriters getting a 30-day option to buy up to 2.7 million additional shares. The company does business as The Central Trust Bank and operates locally – including a dozen Springfield branches – as Central Bank of the Ozarks.
Shares are expected to be priced between $21 and $24 apiece under the CBC ticker symbol. A specific launch date for the IPO has not yet been announced, but company officials said in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing last month that it would come “as soon as practicable after the registration statement is declared effective."
A separate Central Bancompany news release, issued last month, indicates the company's board approved a 50-for-1 stock split in the form of a stock dividend to be paid to shareholders of record as of Oct. 20.
According to the SEC filing, Central Bancompany had 156 branches, $19.1 billion in assets and $14.8 billion in deposits as of June 30. The filing additionally lists net income of $186.2 million for the first six months of 2025, compared with $171.3 million in the same period of 2024.
