Center city greenway trail
Get up off the couch, put on your tennis shoes, and air up the bicycle tires. The first phase of the center city greenway trail connects Drury University and Ozarks Technical Community College at Silver Springs Park with Evangel University at Smith Park by going under National Avenue. Future phases will link Drury and OTC with Jordan Valley Park under Chestnut Expressway and then ultimately extend to West Meadows.
Jordan Valley Park
The Ozarks stream and fountain are favorites for kids. It features 30-minute shows at the top of each hour 10 a.m.–9 p.m. In addition to the water jets, interactive K-Man, a climbing rock and the Ozarks hills are great spaces to romp and play.
F.A.D. at the Creamery
By popular demand, the Springfield Regional Arts Council will host a Free Art Day on Aug. 23 at the Creamery Arts Center across from Hammons Field. Bring the kids, and enjoy some good family fun creating art together. Each event will feature hands-on activities for all ages. No registration is required, and all supplies are provided.
